Siang Beh

Siang thinks that public libraries are one of the finest features of civilisation. He is proud to be part of a profession that supports socio-critical thinking, civic virtues and equitable access to information. You can find Siang practising his profession in a legal library in Sydney. He has worked in various Sydney public libraries and been a volunteer at the State Library of NSW and the Powerhouse Museum.

As a student teacher, Siang was awarded a Remote Intern Scholarship by the Northern Territory Department of Education. He completed his teaching practicums in Nhulunbuy, Gove and Angurugu, Groote Eylandt. Siang is committed to social equity and regularly participates in mentoring programs run by the Australian Business Community Network.
He has helped mentor high school students in goal setting and financial skills and also been a reading buddy to younger students.

In his spare time, Siang likes to go scuba diving, bushwalking and visiting cultural institutions. He loves reading and eating, and is mad about ramen, roast pork and crackling. Most memorable achievement: Learning how to drive manual transmission during sub-cyclonic conditions in Darwin.
